New England Endurance Events is pleased to be designate Water.org as our charitable partner for 2019. A portion of each athlete registration will be directed to the organization, and a number of environmentally friendly initiatives will be taken by NEEE staff at our events this season — in an effort to emphasize the need to empower people around the world with access to safe water and sanitation, and to reduce our carbon footprint. This will include the drastic reduction of the use of plastic at our events this year.

Over 800 million people — about 1 in 9 — lack access to safe water; 2.3 billion — about 1 in 3 — lack access to a toilet. Water.org is dedicated to changing this, empowering families through access to affordable financing and expert resources to make household water and toilet solutions a reality.

For more than ten years, Charity Navigator has consistently rated Water.org in the top 10% of global charities for transparency and financial accountability.

Kyle Damon, brother of Water.org co-founder Matt Damon, will be competing at a 2019 NEE event: our rigorous Sea to Summit Adventure Triathlon this July. We are pleased to help him spread the word of the good works of this organization at all of our 2019 races.
